How much do you consider the law treats ââ¬Ëcarersââ¬â¢? à ââ¬ËCarersââ¬â¢ have become a basic viewpoint in the lives of the UK residents. A carer can be alluded to as any individual who cares, unpaid, for a companion or relative who because of disease, handicap, a psychological wellness issue, or a compulsion can't adapt without their (carer) support. There are different explanations for any individual taking on caring are fluctuated, yet can contain causes, for example, Serious physical disease, Long-term physical inability, Long-term neurological conditions, Mental medical issues, Dementia, Addiction, Learning troubles. à Just as the motivation behind why somebody turns into a carer differs, the equivalent is the situation for the assignments that a carer satisfies. These assignments incorporate reasonable house hold undertakings, individual consideration and passionate help among numerous others. Much the same as some other individual in United Kingdom, the ââ¬Ëcarersââ¬â¢ needs assurance by the law particularly the common law and not being exposed to discipline by the criminal law. The equity framework in the United Kingdom is the instrument that maintains the standard of law. The countryââ¬â¢s courts give a gathering that is successful in settling questions just as to test and authorize laws in a judicious and reasonable way. In addition, the courts framework has shaped the reason for the explaining of any questions and law breaking offenses in the network and at all levels (Swain and Rice, 2009). à ââ¬Å"Law and social workâ⬠have become a significant viewpoint in the United Kingdom social set up. It alludes to the intersection point between the completing of the public work and the lawful structure in the nation. This incorporates parts of the lawful framework, for example, the: lawful foundations (jails and courts among others), case law, and lawful specialists, for example, the adjudicators, lawyers, criminological specialists, paralegals, and elective question goals, among numerous others. Law assumes various critical jobs in the ââ¬Ëcarersââ¬â¢ practice of social work. For instance, from an ecological perspective, the lawful structure is a basic piece of any clientââ¬â¢s social setting. Various social work customers are worried about lawful structures, for example, criminal equity, youngster security, or emotional wellness. ââ¬ËCarersââ¬â¢ should be touchy of the laws that controls or directs each structure in order to assist customers with control ling their way through these structures all the more productively, and to be equipped for supporting for law improvement to improve the honesty of fit connecting customers and their socio-legitimate environmental factors. Likewise, laws additionally regulate heaps of associations important to social work customers (McIvor and Raynor, 200). These incorporate connections, for example, occupant/landowner, manager/specialist, quiet/doctor, kids and guardians just as client/seller among others connections. Consequently, recognition of the law should give experts with a practical discerning of their clientsââ¬â¢ rights and duties in a wide assortment of social relations. Resulting, association explicit laws manage various social organizations, for example, the clinics, social help, schools, emotional well-being offices, restorative establishments, and other social offices. Association explicit laws may arrange who is equipped for administrations, standards for record keeping, protectio n, and other customer social equality (McIvor and Raynor, 200). à ââ¬ËCarersââ¬â¢ or better still ââ¬ËSocial workersââ¬â¢ need to understand these laws thusly to ensure that their associations keep the laws, and to have the option to advocate for alterations in the law to energize better and greater monetary and social unbiasedness. Thirdly, various laws control the control of social work itself. For the most part there are permitting or potentially approval laws that control the completing of social work, just as who perhaps will rehearse and what estimations of execution are legally took into account them to perform. ââ¬ËCarersââ¬â¢ ought to likewise be aware of amateurish lead or (tort) local laws that make out when a ââ¬Ëcarerââ¬â¢ might be lawfully responsible for instigating injury or mischief to a client on the off chance that they complete their rehearsed obligations in a methodology that falls underneath a sane degree of care. In synopsis, some ââ¬Ëcarersââ¬â¢ has their work in criminological environmental factors, leading assessments, valuation, and treatment for customers associated with court or other lawful frameworks. Such settings incorporate probation, jail, kid care appraisal, and uncontrolled committal to psychological well-being establishments (McIvor and Raynor, 200). à Despite being essential in the administration of any nation, there is incredible distinction between the common and criminal law. The two are diverse just as wide parts of law with particular of laws and disciplines. ââ¬Å"The difference stuck between criminal law and common law is considered the two changed items which law tries to rehearse, put right or punishment. The constituent of common law is the getting right of wrongs through by compelling pay or reimbursement: the guilty party isn't punished; he just experiences such a great amount of mischief as is essential to make great an inappropriate he has done. The individual who has experienced gets a particular advantage the law, or if nothing else he maintains a strategic distance from a misfortune. Then again, on account of violations, the primary target of the law is to train the delinquent; to give him and others solid allures not to carry out same or comparable violations, just as to transform him ideally and furthermore fulfill the open sense that bad behavior should meet with revenge.â⬠For instance, the criminal law involves cases, for example, robbery, ambush, murder among others while the common involves angles, for example, misbehavior and carelessness (Swain and Rice, 2009). à à Over the time the social work and the law in United Kingdom has gone along together shaping a relationship where one can't manage without the other. The law requires an absolute necessity enlistment of the carers in one of the numerous registers associations in the nation. This takes into consideration the powerful insurance of the ââ¬Ëcarersââ¬â¢ by the law. This has brought along an away from of the law and thusly characterizing what is morally directly for the parental figures in their work. The social law has called for ââ¬ËCarersââ¬â¢ need to perceive decent variety in the mindful administrations. Regarding and Valuing administration clients, independent of, for instance, their moral definitions, sex or age is integral to brilliant practice by the . It is additionally about working such that counters the uncalled for or inconsistent treatment of people or gatherings based on their race, sex, class, age, culture, religion, sexuality or capacity. There is a deve loping assemblage of law that looks to restrict and rebuff a scope of oppressive practices in different sorts of social setting, for instance in the arrangement of administrations and in work openings. For social laborers, esteeming assorted variety involves more than this. Social work experts should know that there are auxiliary measurements to segregation. à The law characterizes what the carer should see when offering their administrations to their customers. One of the key viewpoints that they should watch is the need to ensure the rights and bolster the interests of administration clients and ââ¬Ëcarersââ¬â¢. What's more, the law additionally requires the ââ¬Ëcarersââ¬â¢ to endeavor towards building up and keeping up the certainty and trust of administration clients and ââ¬Ëcarersââ¬â¢ or themselves. Other prerequisite by the law to the social parental figures include: advance the freedom of administration clients while shielding them beyond what many would consider possible from risk or mischief. Esteeming the privileges of administration clients while in search to guarantee that their conduct doesn't hurt themselves or others. Support open trust and trust in social consideration administrations, and furthermore be e answerable for the nature of their work and assume liability for keeping up and improving their insight and aptitudes. à Social work is a dependable and requesting work. Specialists work in social settings described by tremendous decent variety, and they play out a scope of jobs, requiring various aptitudes. Open desires, office prerequisites, assets, and the necessities of administration clients all make pressures for social specialists. The general population gets just a depiction of a social workerââ¬â¢s duties and, against a foundation of media fixation on the shocking, the a great many fruitful results and long periods of difficult work in childcare and with defenseless grown-ups are rarely thought of. In interceding in peopleââ¬â¢s lives, social specialists face practice quandaries emerging from the connection between social work esteems and the law (for instance, attempting to advance the rights and self-assurance of administration clients and offsetting this with the need to secure them and to ensure the privileges of others (Swain and Rice, 2009). à à The connection between social work and the law is a piece of a progressing banter. There are the individuals who embrace a legalistic model and contend that the law, reflected through court orders, is key to social work practice (for instance, Blom-Cooper, 1985). Others have contended that over-dependence on the law neglects to address the issues individuals face and may even worsen them. This appears to introduce a difficulty for training. The developing significance of the law in social work practice and dynamic is reflected in the preparation prerequisites for experts working in the field of social work (Department of Health, 2002). Our writers will create an original "Jane Austen: An Influential Writer In History" essay for you Create order She lived with her family and never married (Teachman 11). Jane commenced writing as a young teen, and it was her unique way of keeping the family entertained (Teachman 7). Her first novel, Sense and Sensibility was published in 1811. After much revision, Pride and Prejudice was published in 1813(Teachman 53). Incredibly, all her books were published anonymously, this being agreeable to her retiring personality. Jane died on July 18, 1817, and her remains are buried at Winchester Cathedral. Today, Jane is regarded as an English classic and one of the most influential authors in history (Teachman 17-18). In Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen starts with sensational remarks, It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife (Austen 1). The statement makes it evident that Austen intends to inject profound humor by taking normal subjects, such as marriage, and ostentatiously writing of the judiciously. Pride and Prejudice is the best-known novel by Austen and it explores how a first impression can be elusive and create unnecessary prejudices which can be misleading. The main character in the novel is Elizabeth Bennet, who has four sisters and whose situations demand that they all marry well. The novel reveals Austenrs humorous outlook of the humanrs state of being. With this background, the next part of this paper will look at three articles about the novel. In The impact of the Feminist Heroine: Elizabeth in Pride and Prejudice published in the International Journal of Applied Linguistics and English Literature, Hui-Chun Chang critically explores the feminist importance of Elizabeth Bennet. Chang asserts that while other female characters in the novel such as Caroline and Charlotte conform to the socially imposed gender norms, Elizabeth craftily challenges gender inequality (Chang 76). Chang contends that Elizabeth feminists views have a purpose that exceeds the comedic effect and Austen uses Elizabeth to voice her concerns about the socially imposed gender types (Chang 76). Rather than conforming to the popular one-dimensional view that Elizabeth attitude was only intended by Austen comedy, Chang adopts a broader perspective and hold that Elizabethrs feminist acumen serves the role of influencing Mr. Darcyrs character. Chang comments that unlike other female characters, Elizabeth boldly speaks her mind decidedly and she is unwilling to bend to the rules of the societal dictate (Change 77). Hang contrasts Caroline and Elizabeth to prove that indeed, Elizabeth is different from other women in the novel. While Caroline embodies the stereotypical Regency-era woman who has been well educated as per the expectations of the society, she fails to value intellectual achievements, Elizabeth is motivated to pursue intellectual achievements despite not having gotten a typical female education. Chang argues that Elizabethrs feminist qualities have come to light when contrasted against the female foils in the novel (Chang 82). Chang concludes that Elizabeth epitomizes how women can assert their independence and still catch the attention of a suitable husband. (Chang 82) In Marriage in Jane Austenrs Pride and Prejudice published in the International Journal of Media Culture and Literature, Amjad Azam Mohammed analyzes the situation of marriage in the Victorian age and how women were approaching it. Mohammed argues that during the Victorian age, women had different reasons for conducting marriage, including enhancing their social status and ensuring their future (Mohammed 59). During the era in which Austen wrote the novel, marriage was undergoing a significant change from an aristocratic institution to a tolerable institution that could identify the values of women. Mohammed asserts that the transition can be traced in the novel through the character of Elizabeth who defies the status quo and asserts her independence of thoughts and actions (Mohammed 60). Mohammed argues that Pride and Prejudice provides a real-life experience into the institution of marriage during the Victorian age (Mohammed 62). Womenrs were seen as menrs property. Women were denied rights to inherit or possess anything left by their family. Also, women did not have a voice in the society. Austen suggests that many marriages were built on the material needs of women, but she encourages women to be independent and engage in marriage based on love (Mohammed 66). Mohammed concludes that despite varying reasons for marriages, Pride and Prejudice paints marriage as an institution that was experiencing inevitable progress. In The Portrayal of Male Fools in Jane Austen Pride and Prejudice published in English Language and Literature Studies, Ali Albashir Mohammed Al-Haj examines how men are treated in Austenrs novel Pride and Prejudice. Al-Haj asserts that Austenrs work took an interest in people, instead of the ideas and the success of each work is contingent upon the exact presentation of human situations (Al-Haj 44). This infers that Austen was not a social reformer, rather she was a sharp observer who used her talent to make the society think of its flaws. According to Al-Haj, the character of male fools in Pride and Prejudice are fixed characters, who do not change throughout (Al-Haj 47). Al-Haj concludes that a male character in the novel is a fool to the extent that one is seen as a portraiture of good for nothing who does wrong professionally but is devoid of moral awareness. In sum, Jane Austen is a renowned classic and an influential writer in history. Pride and Prejudice captures Austenrs sense of humor and reveals how the author is meticulously using comic to castigate her society for oppressing women. Chang who authored the first article, has explored the novel through the personality of Elizabeth. The major conclusion of the article is that women can be independent and still marry a desirable husband. The second article that was examined in the paper, was authored by Mohammed. In his article he discussed the marriage institution and concluded that the Victorian themes that characterized the marriage institution were being threatened by a new breed of women such as Elizabeth who ushered the society to look at women from a different and new prospective. The third article that was written by Al-Haj who examines male fools in the novel. Al-Haj concludes that male fools in the novel are the male characters who promote status quo. Ultimately, all of the t hree articles have brought new ways to look at Austenrs Pride and Prejudice. Work cited Teachman, Debra. Answer: Introduction: Clipper Bay is a small place located at the tip of a peninsula. The economy of the town is based on the abundant supply from the marine life by the means of fishing and other related businesses. The town has a unique feature of the presence of limestone caves with numerous rocks forming pools inside. The land is unfertile and does not support any agriculture and thus, the economic activity remains confined within the tourism activity only (Phua, Berkowitz Gagermeier, 2012). The coastal roads and a highway built across the road presents an inland accessibility to reach the nearby hills. This facilitates the connection between the land, sea and the hills. In fact, recent approaches towards building better roads and communication networks will increase the opportunity of accessibility to different locations. The region also has its unique cuisine to offer to people visiting the place. The food items are basically confined to fish and other sea foods. The women folk are not only highly skilled in cooking but in weaving as well (Henderson, 2014). Each summer, people mark the time as the beginning of fishing season. This festival is characterised by the customary and heritage linked religious and cultural rituals accompanies by a one week long feast. These are some of the important features that can be regarded as important features to attract tourists to the region. The aim of the report is to develop the economy of the place in a sustainable manner by understanding the socio-cultural and the environmental elements of the region. The aim of the report is to find the best possible way to create an economic activity for the particular region on the budget give for the improvement of Clipper Bay. Suitable Economic Activity for Clipper Bay: In order to boost the economy of the region, tourism can be the best possible option for the particular region. In the view point of Fodness, (2016), tourism depends on a number of factors that influences the particular region. These factors include location of the place, climate of the region, availability of a number of resources like food and water. It can be said that Clipper Bay is an ideal region for tourism because some of the beneficial factors that support the tourism activities are available in the particular region. The region is populated with local people of the region who can act as good guide for the tourists (Hardy et al., 2014). In fact, the people of the region celebrate unique festivals that could be one more reason to attract tourist at that particular time. In addition to these facts, it has been found that the region has infertile soil that does not support any kind of vegetation or farming activity. Therefore, it is suggested that tourism activity is the best s uitable activity of this region. Sustainability Approach of Tourism: Idea of tourism is no longer confined to visiting places and enjoying the moment, but tourism has become an important means of evaluating places (Lee, 2013). Sustainability is one of the major approaches that have been gaining importance in shaping the economy of a region. Sustainable tourism is the concept of visiting a place and creating a positive impact on the environment and the economy. Tourism activities have been greatly influenced by the sustainability approach of the environment. Therefore, any activity carried on keeping this perspective in mind will help to prosper the economy. Idea of developing ecotourism: Ecotourism can be developed at Clipper Bay. As stated by Edgell Sr, (2016), that ecological issues have been integrated in the tourism activities. Tourism related areas that are near nature have greater scope of developing ecotourism activities. As it has been observed that Clipper Bay is located at a confluence of sea and mountain, there is a great scope of developing ecotourism at Clipper Bay. Coastal and Mountain sustainable tourism: As pointed out by Waligo, Clarke Hawkins, (2013), coastal environment are often first to experience detrimental effect in the environment. Therefore, it is important to invest into tourism activities to make sustainable approach. Mountain tourism attracts many mountaineers. Places like Mount Everest in Nepal, Tibet are famous because of the presence of mountain there. Mountain tourism is the primary activity of these regions (Ta?nase et al., 2013). Comparative Advantage of the Place: Fletcher et al. (2013) stated that it is by the use of competitiveness and the availability of certain resources at a particular region, a level of competitive advantage becomes evident. Competitive advantage of tourism of a place depends on the availability of resources, quality of infrastructure and the ability of the place to deal with sustainability. Some factors that add comparative advantage to Clipper Bay can be discussed here: Availability of labour: It has been observed that the people at Clipper Bay are not engaged in any kind of other forms of economic activities. In fact, three generations of people are depended on the regular activities that are carried on in the region (Mason, 2015). Therefore, there is a good scope of the availability of labour for tourism activities at Clipper Bay. The tourism activity is definitely going to improve the local ob opportunity and economic condition of the people in the region. Easy access to the available resources: Basic resources required for attracting tourists makes the tourism activity easy for the particular place. As pointed out by Korstanje, (2014), that tourism is developed in those places where there is the availability of scenic beauty. Other resources like food or water are also available that would supply the necessary things to the visitors or tourists. The region has an abundant supply of marine products like fish and other sea food items that can meet the food expectation level of the people easily (Szytniewski, Spierings van der Velde, 2016). Availability of natural attractions: It is been found that Clipper Bay has the location where both sea and mountain are available. Therefore, the region can attract tourists of both the categories who like to visit the mountain or the sea (Board, 2013). These are the major attractive things that this place has this could be the best possible reason to gain comparative advantage over other regions. Economic Aspect of Tourism: Economic advantage of tourism activities: Tourism can bring great advantage to the economy of a region. Tourism gives job opportunities to the people of the place and thus, provides a significant generation of income to the economy of the country. In addition to this, tourism also increases the business activities of the local hotels, shops and restaurants as well. Henderson, (2014) pointed out that tourism gives an opportunity to the particular region to show itself and increase the profile of the particular place. Therefore, the place becomes evident globally that can attract more tourists to the particular region. Another important advantage of tourism has been pointed out by Board, (2014), that if the particular place is liked by the visitors, then it is seen that they praise about the place that automatically increases the popularity of the place and increases the tourism activity of the place. Economic disadvantage of tourism: Tourism activities also show a number of disadvantages as well. Te most common detrimental effect of tourism is the damage that is caused due to increased level of pollution. Ill behaves activities of tourists cause major damage to nature and the place. It might also result in damage of heritage and culture of the region. An important thing has been pointed out by Getz (2013), that tourism is mainly seasonal and does not support a constant flow of economy for the region. Sometimes, the money earned from the tourism activities is ultimately used to improve the situation for more tourists. Thus, there does not remain any kind of balance to be served for the benefits of the country or the region (Warnick, Bojanic Cartier, 2016). Again, the hotels and restaurants that are owned by foreign companies when benefitted do not add any kind of advantage to the economy of the country. Multiplier effect theory: According to the multiplier theory, with the injection of new demand in the circular flow of business activities, the economy of the particular places shows a multiplier effect. By the multiplier effect it means to create extra income. This income will perhaps boost the spending capability of an individual. Again, it has been pointed out that someones spending is actually the income of other (Webster Ivanov, 2014). Multiplier effect in open economy is higher. A part of the marginal propensity is usually deposited to the government as well. This concept is used in any situation where something new is injected in the industry (Dincer, Dincer Ustaoglu, 2015). It has been observed that a budget of $50 million has been provided for revitalization of the local economy at Clipper Bay. Therefore, it is expected that with the budget provided for the improvement of the locality, it shall bring prosperity to the place. Another important point can be mentioned here that the place does not depend on any particular season or time and thus, it opens the opportunity for tourism throughout the entire year of time. Therefore, there is a great opportunity of regular flow of income that will ultimately help in prosperity of the economy of the place. Balance of payment: Balance of payment is the record of the economic transaction between the residents of the country and rest of the world. As stated by Jules-Rosette, (2013), these transactions are made by individuals, business firms or government bodies. Balance of payment actually provides detailed information of the demand and supply of the currency of the particular country. It is expected that if the complete tourism activity is carried on keeping the needs and the demands of the people, there is a good return of the payment (Boley, Magnini Tuten, 2013). It can be estimated that at least the return of the balance will be double of the investment. Advantage of increased employment: With the increasing aspect of the tourism activities at the particular region of Clipper Bay, it can be assumed that the existing people will participate in the tourism activities that will automatically increase the employment opportunity of the people in that region. With the increase in the employment opportunity, there will be increase in the GDP of the country. Another important factor has been pointed out by Warnick, Bojanic and Cartier, (2016), that when people from other countries having greater denomination value spends in countries that does not have higher value of money, then the host country gets benefitted from the value of money. Therefore, if people spend in dollars and euros then the value of return automatically increases by many folds (Getz, 2013). Impact of FDI and entrepreneurship: There should be the scope and opportunity for foreign direct investment into the tourism activity at the Clipper Bay. When a certain amount of investment is allocated to the particular region for further improvement in the activity, there lays greater possibility of betterment in the situation. In fact, there are many cases when major business men take the opportunity of carrying out entrepreneurship by considering tourism as a means of business activity (Dincer, Dincer Ustaoglu, 2015). Therefore, it can be said that some part of the tourism activities can be considered as a part of entrepreneurship. This way, in order to increase the profitability of the business, the business person will focus on the business and the process will be conducted in a more profitable manner. Analysis of Socio-Cultural Aspect of Tourism: Advantage and disadvantage of socio-cultural aspect of tourism: As opined by Ta?nase et al. (2013), that at times tourism activities turn the local culture into commoditisation that results in reconstruction of ethnicity of the region. It has been observed that Clipper Bay has a group of ethnic people who have their own identity. In case, if the region is turned into a tourism spot, there is a great possibility that the region will lost its relevance. Preservation of heritage: Sustainability approach of tourism also requires preservation of the heritage. It is important to preserve the heritage of the place by taking care of the monuments and other things that are available in the particular region (Fletcher et al., 2013). Generation of interest in local art and craft: There are no such evidences of local art and craft in the region of Clipper Bay. The region is has a good infrastructure of natural beauty that can attract tourists to this place. Cross-cultural impact: It has been observed that the region is populated with people belonging to cross culture. This factor promotes diversity in the region and attracts more tourists from different parts of the world (Szytniewski, Spierings van der Velde, 2016). Therefore, there is a better chance of better tourism activities in the region. Cross cultural impact as attracted man tourists from many regions of the world. Singapore is a place of tourist hub where tourists from different parts of the world like China, India, US and other European countries as well (Warnick, Bojanic and Cartier, 2016). Therefore, there is a better opportunity for the Clipper Bay to attract more tourists. Demonstration effect: An individuals effect on behaviour that is caused by the action and observation of the behaviour of an individual. When a person goes for tourism, the person experiences a number of activities (Ta?nase et al., 2013). These effects often result in the demonstration of various factors of that region. These factors might include the governmental policies or other success or failure of the place. Conclusion: It has been observed that ecotourism can stimulate economic development and social welfare of the citizens as well as the region. In order to develop a community based tourism, local employment and diversification of the economic activities of the people in the region is needed. Again, with the involvement of FDI and entrepreneurship the scope of tourism can be increased. It has been observed that the place has a natural beauty of both sea and mountain. Therefore, the region can attract more number of people. The multiplier effect of tourism has showed evidence that the investment made on the tourism activities on the Clipper Bay is sure to multiply its income and increase the profitability of the region. It has been suggested that the tourism activity should follow the sustainability of environment and the region. It is very important to preserve the nature and the natural resources that are available at the place. Profitability should not be the only means of tourism but there should be some aspect of keeping the environment safe. There are a number of comparative advantages that the region has that is helpful for creating a better environment for the purpose of tourism. It now depends on the people of the place to take advantage of the available resources and improve the tourism activities of the place. Reference List: Board, S. T. (2013). They would set up grenades filled with half the explosive powder needed for a full blast, and they would bury them around the perimeter of their camp with their pins tied together by trip wire. Once the enemy would set foot in that perimeter and tripped the trip wire it would pull the pins to almost all the grenades. But the grenades didnt go off right away so the jap that snuck in would just think he tripped on a branch or something. Until the grenades would finally go off and alert the camp to catch the intruder. Thats if the grenades didnt catch him before they did. Veteran interview Essay Example For Students Veteran interview Essay Veteran interview Essay My grandfather, Larry, served in WWII. He enlisted and stationed at Camp Polk. He went through places like New Guinea and the Philippines during the war. When I asked him if he experienced any combat he said; yes, I experienced some combat. But most of the time I spent in combat was in a tank. Not too much action there. A typical day in my grandfathers life at the time was to wake up at the crack of dawn and get ready for a full day of combat, well at least for the ground troops that didnt have a tank to be protected by. Of course for him, driving a tank was easier then being a ground troop. So that made things a little easier. He told me every day the main thing he did, and I quote, kep my head low. Anything could be expected. We will write a custom essay on Veteran interview specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now At Camp Polk him and some other troops had a idea to set up a trap to alert them if the enemy tried to get into their base camp at night. Yep, I would be dozing off to sleep when a critter or a swift breeze would set those damn things off and wake me up again. Then youre stuck setting them all up for the rest of the night. The thing that stuck out most in my grandfather mind he said was; looking forward to go home. The war got tough in many ways and situations which made my him wish he was home with his family again. I asked him if he thought about the war very often now and he said; so so. Not alot. Glad its over. When I asked him if he lost any friends or people he served with in the war he said that he lost some friends in combat but he didnt talk much about that. He carried his sacred heart metal with him everywhere he went. He would pray for the war to end at night before he fell asleep. The friends he made in war are either dead or he no longer keeps in touch with them at all. There wasnt much said about his worst and best experiences in the war. All he said on that was to keep alert and stay alive. The war did not change him. My grandfather was received with lots of love. He was going to go to Japan but he ended up going home early. He was in Minilla on V-J Day, the day the war ended. This was a victory day celebration. I asked him if he had been scarred either emotionally or physically from serving in the war and he said; yes, both especially when you get surrounded. One time he told me that he opened the top hatch to his tank to see if the cost was clear. There ended up being a jap hiding in a tree above him and he caught him at the corner of his eye tring to drop a grenade in with him. So my grandfather quickly slammed the door shut and listened to the explosion of the grenade followed by the jap falling out of the tree and hitting the top of the tank with a loud thud. And after all. Rarely is it possible to find that an investment idea that is both cheap and popular. However, choosing to take oneââ¬â¢s business to developing nations is likely to change all of this in one instant. (Vernon, 2001) Research conducted earlier this year in Europe indicated that close to forty six percent of investors are choosing to take their businesses to emerging markets. What this means for the company is that there will be substantial levels of capital getting into such an economy thus reflecting on the overall returns obtained there. In 2008, it was asserted that percentage returns from emerging economies approximated to about fifteen percent. One the other hand, the level of returns from developed nations was eleven point one percent. Consequently, this company will be at a better footing if they chose to invest in country B which is an emerging economy. From this paper it is clear that some experts may argue that launching oneââ¬â¢s services or products into a lucrative area is always a risky thing to do because one can never be sure when investment costs will go up or down. Consequently, it is always advisable to be cautious. However, projections made about developing countries have indicated that prices are likely to remain positive and that returns will still be higher in developing nations rather than in developed ones. They spent so much time away from home, and when they came back home, they had persistent flashbacks. The flashbacks caused them to feel threatened wherever they were and could not trust anyone with their lives. Over the years, the disorder has recorded a rise and it has become a socio-cultural problem. The traumatic experiences like terrorist attacks, earthquakes, floods, kidnappings, rape, child abuse, and many others have contributed to more victims suffering from the disorder (Cash, 2006). Statistics has shown that very soon the disorder may be one of the major public health concerns (Cash, 2006). Changes in the methods of treatment are therefore necessary to curb the growing menace. Over the years, the method used for the treatment of PTDS is only focused on the short-term treatment of the disease (Steele, van der Hart and Nijenhuis, 2001). The formulation has not characterized the significant symptoms seen on the victims who have suffered prolonged mental afflictions. They are mainly attributed to repeated domestic or sexual abuse together with political torture. A substitute diagnostic formulation ââ¬Å"complex PTSDâ⬠should replace the method of treatment. This treatment will ensure that multiple symptoms are treated, and it will deal with the long-term effect of the disease on the individual for them to heal completely (Steele, van der Hart and Nijenhuis, 2001). The current PTDS deals only with the treatment of single acute trauma and leaves out the bigger picture caused by multiple sources of trauma (Steele, van der Hart and Nijenhuis, 2001). Judith Herman, a professor of psychology at the Harvard, was the first person to propose this treatment. Her book ââ¬Å"Trauma and Recoveryâ⬠accurately spells out how the treatment should be carried out using the ââ¬Å"complex PTDSâ⬠. We did so and were then told witch of the stimuli we would actually be working on. We then decided that we would create a comedy about an unfortunate bank robber. The comedy started with the lead character Victor Watt (Tom) standing centre stage in a white spotlight telling how, if the job had gone to plan, he would be rich Victor then exits up stage right. I, who was standing behind Victor, turns round and raises my hands then lowers them while wiggling my fingers and making the noise bidlyboop repetitively to comically signify going into the fantasy flashback, the stage then fades to black. The music (Little Green Bag from Reservoir Dogs) and lights come up on a fantasy scene in which Victors job goes exactly to plan and more. (The lights in this scene are more yellow to the side of the stage on which the bank is. ) As he walks in three ladies (Julie, Stacy Claire) look him up and down and he turns to the audience and winks. He waltzes into the bank (up stage left) winks at the female bank clerk (Kim) and receives his big bag of loot. He walks out (centre stage) and is intercepted by a police officer (Me) that thinks hes Clint Eastwood. The music stops and the police officer makes the tune from The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, Victor looks the police officer up and down and asks what the hell hes doing. The police officer responds to this by charging at Victor who cunningly side steps to evade his attack, this sends the police officer into an overly elaborate frenzy of a fall. After the deranged policeman is left face down half way down the street, Victor picks up two of the three ladies that flirted with him before he entered the bank leaving one (Julie). This last lady walks over to the face down police officer takes a look at him in disgust then continues to smoke. At this moment Victor looks back and whistles to this remaining female, all in a fluster she stubs out her cigarette on the police officers back and runs off to Victor who gentlemanly lets her leave first as he caches a gander at her rear. The music stops and again I stand centre stage and make the same action to signify returning to the present then the scene fades to black. The lights come up on Victor Watt who again is standing centre stage but this time explains that things never relay go to plan especially if the plan is his and that the next thing you are to see is what relay happened. He exits up stage right, I who again was standing behind Vic with my back to the audience turn round and make the same gesture this time to signify going into the real flashback. The lights go down. The lights come up on the same flashback scene minus the music. Victor walks in with a ripped old jacket over his hand and looking much less virile. Instead of women falling at his feet he is falling over his feet. The ladies take one look at him and blow a lung full of smoke in his face. He turns to the audience and rubs his bloodshot eyes. He stumbles as he puts his hand out to open the front door to the bank but manages to catch the handle, pull himself up (this was done planed in mime but was not acted out in the final performance) then open the door. He stagers into the bank and over to the bank clerk. When he removes his jacket he reveals the gun he was hiding, he points it with an extremely unsteady hand at the clerk. He then tells her, with an even more unsteady voice, to give him all the money. She turns round and presses the alarm. Victor panics and attempts to shot the gun but pulls the wrong trigger, the revolver opens and bullets fall out onto the floor. He runs for the door but the police sirens are already right outside the bank. A voice comes as if from nowhere and says, This is the police, come out with your hands up! then the scene fades to black. The lights come back up on Victor standing in a spotlight with his head hug. He looks up and states that that was his story but not to worry he make his fortune yet. There is then an unseen voice that says, Come on Victor, visitor times over. A large man dressed as a jail guard steps into the spotlight in front of Victor, with his back to the audience he turns Victor round and puts on his handcuffs, he then roughly pushes him out of the spotlight and follows him closely baton in hand. The scene then fades to black and the curtains close. I think our play was fairly well written and fairly well performed but it could have been better if we had a better set and props. To add a conclusion I am over all pleased with the outcome of Wannabe Bank Robber. A country as wealthy as the United States can afford to pay thirty seven billion dollars in twenty years, assuming of course that the weather related disasters only cost one billion dollars each. Unfortunately, the weather does not work that way. Hurricane Katrina alone may have cost one hundred billion dollars (Tucker 13). What could be causing these devastating storms? Many atmospheric scientists like Kerry Emanuel believe that global warming is the cause of the increased ferocity of the hurricanes (Nash 38). With the polar temperatures increasing the icecaps are melting. Without the ice to reflect the sun's light, the water absorbs the heat. This creates a vicious cycle. The ocean levels rise with their temperatures. Hurricane Katrina was only a category one hurricane when it crossed Florida. However, when it reached the newly warmed Gulf waters, hurricane Katrina ballooned into a mind-blowing category five hurricane that destroyed the gulf region (McKibben, Year One 30). The melting of the polar icecaps has long been believed to be caused by global warming. Until recently, the cause of global warming itself has largely been up for debate. Now atmospheric scientists attribute global warming to increased greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, in the earth's atmosphere (Greenstone 323). With the knowledge that carbon dioxide causes global warming countries can start taking actions to prevent future global warming. The United States alone produces twenty four percent of the world... ... 166 Issue 1 (2004): 10-12. Phelps, Megan. "More Action, Less Hot Air." The Mother Earth News Vol. 210 (2005): 30. There are a variety of psychological disorders that people normally suffer from. One of these disorders is the antisocial personality disorder which is a condition that makes a person want to be alone, secluded from the rest of the society. This disorder is also known as psychopathy or sociopathy. Donââ¬â¢t waste time! Our writers will create an original "Case formulation on Theodore Bundy" essay for you Create order This illness is a mental health condition where a person has an extended pattern of manipulation, exploitation, and violation of others rights. This behavior is considered to be criminal. According to research, the antisocial personality disorder starts at childhood or at teen age whereby it is normally mild and unnoticeable. It can sometimes be confused with the adolescent in teenage children. There many different symptoms that can be detected in a person with antisocial personality disorder (Laws, 2001). People with this disorder have the ability to act cheerful and charming. They are considered to be like a time bomb because of the fact that they can have an unexpected episode. A common symptom among the people who suffer this disorder is that they constantly break the law and do not show signs of remorse or culpability. Also, they are impulsive, compulsive liars, they get easily irritated, and they continually neglect their own and others safety. Another important symptom is that they are very good when it comes to manipulating others feelings. Those people who have the disorder may also present problems like chronic boredom, compulsive need to gamble, and drug and alcohol abuse. Since they present many sudden changes in the behavior and a lack of many senses, they are more likely to commit suicide. After a brief explanation of the personality disorders that people suffer from, this paper will expound on the case study of Theodore Bundy who happens to suffer from the antisocial personality disorder. Theodore portrays symptoms that can be attributed to the disorder and which have evidently changed his lifestyle. He cannot venture into leisure or recreational exercises which he previously found to be fun, and prefers to stay in bed all the day. The patient seems to have a completely different approach to thinking, and behavior which makes him become an introverted person who prefers to be alone. Notably, the patients has trouble recognizing and connecting with situations and people, even himself (Meyer, Chapman Weaver, 2008). This paper will expound on the case of Theodore and derive arguments from other authentic sources so as to reach a conclusion about the diagnosis and treatment of the personality disorder. It is very important that people know how to recognize this disorder to be able to take necessary medical action in good time and prevent any further problems. The specific origin that can cause this disorder is unclear because each person can present a combination of different characteristics and can only be discovered after rigorous sessions and intensive studies about the patientââ¬â¢s history. According to research, there are many theories, however, about the possible causes of are likely due to factors attributed to genes and other biological factors as well psychological factors. To understand this, we can divide it into two parts, genetics and external causes. When we talk about external causes, we can refer to the environment that the people with this disorder had in the past like parents or relatives with alcohol or drug problems, grown in a specific urban environment where both violence and child abuse dominates. Another cause could be children who had a very permissive familiar environment without clear rules of education or children who have been educated too freely without any supervision of the parents (Meyer, Chapman Weav er, 2008). Research has established that there are various physiological responses which are more likely to frequently in people with antisocial personality disorder. For example, these people have a flat response to stress and are generally less anxious than the normal people. Another important aspect that research highlights is that the disorder is probably caused by a combination of psychological factors. Having one of the many character traits does not necessary mean that one has the disorder. The antisocial personality has been termed as one of the most complicated psychological disorders. This is because the condition is quite hard to contain and treat mainly because people who suffer from it rarely come out on their own to seek treatment. It has also been found out that some people suffer from this disorder for some time and it fades off on its own as they approach the age of forty. Despite that, many psychotherapy techniques have been believed to treat this disorder. In patients of younger age, the involvement of the family, as well as psychotherapy, can help to suppress that behavior in a child (Bennie, 2012). The cognitive therapy technique is yet another strategy that is used to treat the antisocial personality disorder. Kendra Cherry who is a psychology expert explains that cognitive behavior therapy is a psychotherapeutic approach that helps patients to contain and control the thoughts that have a fundamental influence on thinking and behavior. In some severe cases where the patient seems to be in a critical condition, some medication is used to contain the adverse effects of the psychological condition. These are mainly the cases where the patient portrays signs of depression, aggressiveness, irritability, and anxiety, but there are still a lot of concerns raised concerning the effectiveness of these techniques and their compatibility in the treatment of this type of disorder mainly due to the fact that people affected by it do not recognize that they have a problem (Sturmey Et al, 2007). It is more likely that the treatment will be successful if it is started as soon as possible, but their general behavior and thinking remains unaltered. If this behavior is detected early enough, it can be treated through a variety of both psychological and medical approaches that will free the patient from the disorder. However, the problem with detection of the disorder there are so many people with this disorder who do not recognize it. Many people who have it do not realize that they have a psychological problem and therefore they cannot be convinced to seek medical attention. The duty lies with the immediate family, relatives, and friend who should urge the patient to seek treatment or psychological help. The society should also be sensitive when it comes to this disorder as some people who have it may not pay attention to it, and it may have adverse effects on their reasoning eventually to violent and depressing endings. Theodore Bundy is the main case study that this paper is going to focus on as well as other cases which show great similarity to the behavioral characteristics that Bundy depicted. Bundy grew up like any other child in his neighborhood. He was bright in class, and his performance was way above average. His parents were greatly involved in is education whereby they helped with homework and other school work. Young Bundy did not portray any questionable character traits, and if any, his parents suppressed them and did not openly talk about it. Bundy did not engage in private talk with his parents on issues such as dating and sex and that made them remain unaware of his sexual desires and escapades (Letourneau Borduin, 2008). Bundy used to go to the neighbors dustbins to look for pictures of naked women. In most cases, Bundy chose to be alone whereby he listened to a small radio that he had and did no engage in playing games like the rest of his age mates. His parents were not keen on his behavior, and therefore they did not notice something odd with his character. Bundy was obsessed with material possessions and fantasized about being adopted by a rich family of actors. Though he attended a couple of parties while in high school, Bundy did not develop proper social skills and that made him refrain from engaging in social activities. His antisocial behavior was more evident in high school where he became introverted and spent most of his time alone, unlike when in junior school. After school Bundy volunteered to work in a local political race. Bundy developed a political career where he associated with a lot of people and began to make friends. Someone could have easily thought that he was like any other person in the political arena. However, Bundy explained that he had a separate entity which coexisted within him and forced him to kill. Bundy was quite intelligent, and even after he started his killings, he managed to escape justice for about ten years. The judges who passed his judgment were amazed by his intelligence. Indeed he seemed to be a separate entity from the killer personality. His antisocial personality disorder was believed to be the main factor behind his multiple killing of innocent victims. Like Bundy, Hilde had the antisocial personality disorder which showed up later on after teen age. The family doctor directed Hilde to a therapist when the cure with quick assurance and valium became unsuccessful. Particularly, Hilde who is 42 years and a house maker was undergoing marital difficulties at her marriage with headaches and slight depression too.à The physician had the perspective that her condition was due to panic attacks, (Meyer, Chapman Weaver, 2008). But after valium cure, Hilde did not stop complaining about the same effects, which made the physician direct her to my clinic. When the first consultation was conducted with a different physician, she seemed to be really eager and had an urge of talking to me. She was questioned whether she was aware of what brings a headache, slight depressions and also marital problems. While answering, she went to the extent of describing her past. The examination revealed that during her descriptions, she was unable to relate t heir spontaneous role with the headaches, minor depression, as well as matrimonial troubles.à Hilde was so happy speaking to a person about her life and forgot about the intention of the interview. However, she was given an ear to her for a little bit and when on the discovery that the irrelevancies became more and a decision of helping her connect her past with the present know-hows. But she repelled my efforts and went ahead turning moody and angry. She sauntered when I challenged the irrelevancies. That is when it started to occur to me that her condition was more related to antisocial personality disorder. Diagnosing Joseph using the stated diagnosis, I had gone through his life past. When Joseph was a year old, his father fell from the roof of the church while he was mending it. Also, his mother came back to the house that belonged to her father, and the father was chosen as the guardian to Joseph. Further, the grandfather was murdered in less than a year afterward (Meyer, Chapman Weaver, 2008). Two years later, the other maternal grandfather passed away due to a heart disease.à Because of emotional and financial issues from a parental grandmother who raised Joseph, he spent about a year in an orphanage at the age of 12 to 13. They had a life featured with a movement from place to place. This led to a change in family friends as well a change in roles of parents. His education was faced with a lot of disruptions, and he had the ability to achieve eighth-grade schooling. That is the time he began showing emblems of dyslexia and negligence (Meyer, Chapman Weaver, 2008). However, he managed to acquire an overall similar high school degree.à Despite the fact that Joseph acquired a job and married, he life continued to be referred as a sad one. He was very good at his job and went ahead spending extra time to get overtime pay.à He became angry when his wife got a job away from their home. Due to this, he went out with the hope that his wife would return (Meyer, Chapman Weaver, 2008).à Thus, the occasions catalyzed presence and also rise of clear psychiatric signs. His disorder became known in 1980 when a physician was curing him for bursitis on his shoulder.à From the psychiatrists report, there was an indication that Joseph was working for 16 hours in a day. Rather than going home to get sleep, he bar wished and ended sleeping for only two hours. The quickening of his condition came about due to the anger he had towards his wifeââ¬â¢s Brenda ex-husband. He began hating him when he found out that he makes money very easily. He also got angry due to depression from the spells of difficulties arising from his stepchildren. The fury he had to the ex-husband of Brenda intensified,à à which made Joseph track him a month. He had the mindset of bowing brains of the ex-husband of Brenda out. In the following seven years, there was breakage of relations with his mother as well as his eldest son because of personal disagreements.à The year 1984, he attempted to commit suicide which made his wife divorce him (Meyer, Chapman Weaver, 2008). Monroe was the daughter of Gladys Baker and wasnââ¬â¢t aware of her father. She underwent lots of difficulties when she was young.à She lived in an orphanage as she underwent her childhood as well as adolescence (at this point she was given the responsibilities of being a kitchen assistant while she was at a caring age of nine). At her grandparentââ¬â¢s place as well as that of families who adopted her, she didnââ¬â¢t get a family (Mever et al, 2008).à The young Norma Jean didnââ¬â¢t have a home. She was moved from one foster household to another and never coped. She stayed with about seven adoptive families in the period of 4 yearsà à (Meyer et al., 2008). Being a sexual abuse victim, itââ¬â¢s usual for a young girl to writhe from mental disorders. Among one of the households, she underwent sexual abuse from an actor but wasnââ¬â¢t believed by her foster parent when she reported it.à She was made not to mention the experience ever again. She was left in the care of a friendly marriage until the moment she turned seven.à Thereafter, she took her and stayed with her. But after a year, she got hospitalized in a psychiatric hospital where she got spotted of paranoid schizophrenia, which is a disease that Mary came to find out that she inherited mainly the moment she got admitted due to recurring depressions. Therefore, Marilyn Monroe is from a specific group, which is really common, of women who acquired an interior force analytically deteriorated by severe structures containing a conventional, striking world, strong when it comes to its prohibitions,à but again insincere for it diminished her as aà lady. Sexual abuse is an issue which has been there from the start of humanity.à Due to this, small Monroe in a number of years became withdrawn, a mumbling girl, due to hallucinations, where she woke up yelling mid night and woke her mates who were in the orphanage. Sexual abuse is a common cause of psychological disorders. Some people manage to move on, others get used to living with the trauma, and others simply cannot continue and end up with their lives. However, Marilyns childhood was very stormy since she never had a regular family. His mother could not take care of her because of her economic and emotional problems and gave her to several families for adoption. It is said that the first time Marilyn was sexually abused was at the age of five years. These abuses continued throughout her childhood and at the hands of different individuals, most of which were members of her family. This affected Marilyn throughout her life (Meyer et al., 2008). The three cases analyzed in this paper display problems with Over-generalizing Features of Relationships. Bundy in his killings would ask for favors from strangers even asking them to get in his car which was a trap that he used to get young girls and torture them before eventually killing them. People who suffer antisocial personality disorder in most cases have these problems as they tend to have no friends (Plante, 2005). They, therefore, try to reach out to anyone who happens to be available, and from the brief interaction, they get to trap them and use them to carry out their desires. For instance, a client who insists on meeting the therapist during off hours twice a day or even immediately would probably have the problem of generalizing features of relationships which is a character trait evident in the three cases analyzed in this paper. Some other clients tend to discriminate against appropriate context to make a request or to reveal a new need that they have. Such clients tend to some difficulties in engaging in these activities to avoid or escape aversive contingencies. Such individuals have a problem with expressing themselves and talking about their needs at the appropriate times or difficulties responding to requests that are made by other people or have an attitude of opposition to the clients own needs. This is evident in the cases analyzed whereby Bundy had issues in focusing on the needs and responding to requests made by other people and sometimes would even turn violent (Popescu, 2010). Monroe on the other side was determined to lead a normal life but kept on drifting due to her inability to relate and respond to the people around her, and especially those who were out to help her. Another problem that the characters analyzed seem to have is rejecting that a Need is Present. This can be described as the behavior by a client that shows that they believe that their needs are less likely to be catered for satisfactorily. This is usually a prejudgment that occurs even before the person has communicated the needs or experienced a service that does not satisfy them. This prevents these people from exposing their problems due to fear that they cannot be helped. The people analyzed in the paper have similarities with relation to antisocial personality disorder. When an inquiry is made to this people about their condition, they would most likely decline that they have a problem and dismiss the inquiry which is one of the main reasons that makes people think that they actually are normal. In conclusion, this paper has analyzed case studies of people with the antisocial personality disorder as well as analyzed the dominant behavioral character traits that these people possessed. Bundy grew up like any other child in his neighborhood. He was bright in class, and his performance was way above average. His parents were greatly involved in is education whereby they helped with homework and other school work. Young Bundy did not portray any questionable character traits and if any, his parents suppressed them and did not openly talk about it. Monroe was the daughter of Gladys Baker and wasnt aware of her father. She underwent lots of difficulties when she was young.à She lived in an orphanage as she underwent her childhood as well as adolescence at this point she was given the responsibilities of being a kitchen assistant while she was at a caring age of nine. Physicians have a problem addressing issues related to the condition of these people due to various factors that have been analyzed in the paper. However, this has also produced a negative impact on the population. Most village industries are major generators of pollution. An increase in the living standards of China s population has fueled a demand for quality food, water, electricity, vehicles, electrical appliances, and air conditioners. This adversely affects the environment. More demand for consumer products fuels the increasing demand for new factories producing those goods. This, in turn, leads to more pollution. The use of fertilizers in agriculture further adds to environment degradation (Morton, 2005). China has witnessed tremendous growth in industry, agriculture and energy sectors. A huge creation of rural factories has also led to environmental degradation of lakes, forests, ecosystems, ponds, forests, jungles and coastal areas. The government has fo cused on economic development at the expense of the environment (Morton, 32). China s government has opened up its markets and given autonomy at the provincial and district levels to promote economic growth. Therefore the result has been zeal in striving for economic development. The Literary Tradition of Love Poetry through a Close Examination of the Poems Cousin Kate and I Wish I Could Remember Cousin Kate is a poem about a Cottage Maiden who was complimented and wooed by a lord to get her to have sex with him. He then saw her cousin, Kate, and abandoned the maiden to marry her. The maiden has his child and becomes an outlaw for having him out of wedlock while Kate and the Lord are looked upon as respectable and pure. From the start of the poem we see that the speakers circumstances have changed. I was a cottage maiden Hardened by sun and air, By using the past tense, was, we are immediately alerted that she is no longer a cottage maiden. The word maiden canâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦The very praise means he complimented her, but the compliment was not for her personality, but her looks, her hair. The Maiden stresses the difference in status because she repeats Great Lord throughout the first stanza. The word great immediately paints a picture of power and class, which proves a huge contrast to our impression of the Maiden. The last two lines of the first stanza are a question. Why did a great lord find me out To fill my heart with care? By using a rheatorical question the speaker signifies the Maiden has a lot of unanswered questions and that she is searching for reasons. The second stanza starts by again portraying the lord as being a sly character. He lured me to his palace home- Instead of just saying his home, the speaker say to his palace home, which emphasises how rich he is and that he may have used his wealth to seduce the Maiden. The use of the verb lured shows he may have tricked the maiden, and makes the Lord seem a rather sinister character. As the Maiden looks back she realises she was happy before. Woes me for joy thereof- This could be a factor to why she is so unhappy now, because of the memory. We find throughout this stanza she is very reflective of how she was treated and her feelings. Answer: Introduction A marketing plan is considered to be the most useful tool which helps in improving the overall efficiency and the effectiveness of the concerned organization within the concerned marketplaces. In order to understand the desired impact of the external and the internal factors on the concerned firm, Sony Corporation has been taken into consideration. Three of the different resources have been used to conduct this marketing plan they are industry reports, company reports, and the prescribed textbooks. This research paper will help in evaluating the different aspects required to be identified in order to bring out the desired marketing plan for Sony Corporation of Australia (Ferrell and Hartline, 2012). Selection of the appropriate target market is supposed to be of great importance as it helps in evaluating the growth of the firm on a large scale (Hollensen, 2015). The use of the marketing mix is crucial as it helps in highlighting the quality of the products in front of the customers b y various means. Background to the Company Sony Corporation is one of the leading firms in the field of technology, financial and gaming services. The origin of the company is Japan and it operates its business processes throughout different countries including Australia (Kotler et al., 2015). The quality of the products delivered by Sony Corporation is of superior quality which has helped the firm in developing its brand reputation in front of the customers concerned. The company was founded in the year 1946 in Japan and it has enhanced its market share across different countries of the world. Moreover, there are other services offered by the firm such as entertainment services which include music, pictures etc. SWOT Table Strengths Weaknesses 1. Higher growth rate 2. Skilled workforce 3. The company is having its global presence across different countries and by delivering of good quality of products the firm has increased its customers base (Berthon, 2012).Moreover, the skilled workforce is providing the firm the desired elevation in the growth and development of the corporation. On the other hand, the assistance to the customers is supposed to be of great importance and this is done with the help of experienced employees and thus, it reveals the fact that the skilled workforce is providing the best efforts in bringing the positive outcomes for the firm. Moreover, the limit to the financial capacity is a limit to the firm and this need to be rectified as to enhance the growth of the company throughout the large market segments. In order to improve the business processes within the fixed market areas, it becomes very important for the firm to identify the potential threats to the firm. There are several opportunities to the firm in order to enhance their business processes throughout the concerned market segments of Australia (Thompson, 2013). The change in the latest technologies is another advantage which can be utilized by the company to enhance its productivity to a large scale. Throughout the different market areas of Australia such as in Melbourne or Sydney, people are getting attracted towards the use of latest technologies and therefore the implementation of the latest technologies will help in increasing the growth rate of the firm to a large scale. The brand name of the company needs to be used, for selling all its products to the customers. Formulation of the effective strategies is required in order to reduce the crucial threats from its competitors and other factors. Recommendations Target Market The concepts of segmentation, targeting and positioning are being used by the company in order to execute the business processes within a particular selected market segments. Age is one of the segmenting variables on the basis of which the company is targeting all its customers throughout the market segments of Melbourne (Morgan et al., 2012). The company is making all its products as per the latest trends and thus, the focus towards the people between ages 18 to 35 years of age supposed to be most effective for selling of these products (Tripp, 2014). It has been seen that all across Melbourne market segments, people are more prone towards the change in the latest technologies and this segmenting variable will help the firm in attracting a large number of the customers towards the business (Li, 2013). New Product Description The company is planning to launch its new LAPTAB which is the combination of the mobile and the tablet in order to provide the best and unique experience to the customers. The model of the product is XPERIA X4. The use of the marketing mix variables is supposed to be important for this. The primary aim of launching the product is to capture the entire market segments with this price range (Fifield, 2012). Price The company is using differentiation in the pricing strategy as with the same price of the products available at other competitors. The price has been set for AUD299as the initial price. Place The market segments of Melbourne and Sydney are selected first for the launch of this product and then online marketing will be used to sell the product to a large number of the customers. Melbourne is the first target market selected for the firm for selling all its products (Agrawal, 2013). Promotion The use of online marketing, as well as social media, is being used for the effective promotion of the product throughout the concerned market areas. Moreover, different promotional campaigns will help in attracting a large number of the customers'. Customer Value proposition Customers value proposition is merely the description of the experience which the customer will after using that particular product (Westwood, 2013). There the purchasing of the products as well as the use of the products needed to be made reliable with the help of effectual strategies and latest innovative technologies. The benefits of the customers needed to be recognized by the firm as this will help in enhancing the satisfaction level of the customers (Bng and Roos, 2014). Moreover, the Customer Value proposition provides the desired approach in order to understand the target use for the selling of the products. Justification of the Choice of New Product It has been seen that latest technological advancements throughout the different parts of the world has changed current trends and made the people to get attracted towards the use of these technologies (Walker, 2015). Therefore, the introduction of the new product that is the combination of the smartphone and tablet will help in increasing the satisfaction level of the customers to a large extent (Bosomworth, 2015). The company is focusing on promoting the products effectively throughout the different market segments of Australia and online marketing channels are used in order to sell the products. Promotional campaigns will, therefore, work in creating the desired impact on the minds of the customers effectively. For e.g. in the army organising where all there troops should be and when ready for either battle, housing, medical treatment and catering. The best way to ensure this all happens safely is to have and experienced team of logistics and to plan it all out before.Disasters There are two main types f paper based disaster teams.Seminar A seminar is a discussion thats carried to tell all the agencies all their roles and responsibilities, and the sort of emergency procedure that might be required in the case of a major incident. They normally attend the seminar as a large team which will then be broken down into smaller ones.Tabletop This is also a discussion similar to a seminar but usually involves smaller groups. The public services and any other agencies talk through the way and order they would respond to a specific incident if it was happen for real. They are normally conducted in a conference roo m around a conference table. These exercises are effective for testing these incident plans, as they bring up and highlight and weaknesses in a safe environment where people lives are not at risk.Physical Training Physical training is one the best ways to do conduct and effective team work. A good example of this is when playing sports such as rugby, football, basketball etc. This is because the whole team motivate eachother to try and win the game which gives a high team spirit, and a good sense of teamwork. It can also help the less able members of the team make a large improvement, as they are encouraged by the better players in the team.Team Building Team building exercises can be anything that bring a team together and make them work together efficiently. It can include activities like outdoor training courses, or making teams work together to complete a task for e.g., getting over a bridge without being able to touch the water but only being allowed to use the provided resou rces. Or just bringing people together to find better ways of working.Achieving objectives A major goal of working in a team in a work area is to achieve the objectives set by the organisation. These might includes things such as reducing patient waiting times, lowering response times or to reduce crime rate in a certain area. If completed it gives a great sense of achievement throughout the team.Planning and achieving a project In most work places they will have projects that require a lot of planning and carrying out instructions in a team. The team leader is mostly responsible for developing skills, to ensure that they complete a project and monitoring its success but are also responsible if the project fails.Dr Bruce TuckmanDr Bruce Tuckman published his model of team development in 1965 which consisted of 4 stages;* Forming* Storming* Norming* PerformingHowever in 1975 he added a 5th stage known as adjourning. Its the theory of how teams from the start of a given task to the end. Teams that go through these stages properly should show;* Openness* Cooperation* Good decision making skills* Appropriate leadership* Individual development* Clear objectives and goalsTeam building in the public services is the same as any other job. There are many different ways that can improve team cohesion like days off, meetings, social events, group training and residential experiences.Training New team members should get the training they require. However it weakens teams if new workers who just sit in and do not contribute to the team properly.Coaching This is linked into sports teams more than public services, it could be seen as part of the trainingMentoring This is when a more experienced member of staff guides the new recruits to a new team. It is used often in the public services for e.g. the police it is extremely valuable in the police as it could help a new officer feel part of the force.Motivation This has a lot to do with the nature of the work and the tea m, also the goals and needs of the new worker also knowing their team roles and what they contribute to the team. Also the pay and working conditions will affect someones motivation.Team Knowledge This develops with time; the most important thing for a new team member it is important not to judge the rest of the team to quickly. It is also important for leaders to understand their teams. Procedure 1. The room temperature was recorded. 2. 15cm3 of the given aqueous ethanoic acid and 15cm3 of butan-2-ol were poured into a 100cm3 separating funnel, using suitable apparatus. The funnel was stoppered and was shook vigorously for 1 to 2 minutes. (The pressure in the funnel was released by occasionally opening the tap. ) 3. 10cm3 of each layer was separated approximately. (The fraction near the junction of the two layers was discarded. ) 4. 10. cm3 of the aqueous layer was pipetted into a conical flask and was titrated with 0. 1 M sodium hydroxide solution using phenolphthalein. 5. Using another pipette, 10. 0 cm3 of the alcohol layer was delivered into a conical flask and was titrated with 0. 1 M sodium hydroxide solution. 6. Steps (2) to (5) was repeated with another separating funnel using the following volume: 25cm3 of aqueous ethanoic acid and 15cm3 of butan-2-ol 7. For each exper iment, the ratio of the concentration of ethanoic acid in the aqueous layer to that in the butan-2-ol layer was calculated. Result Room temperature: 29? Volume of butan-2-ol: 15 cm3 |Volume of 0. 2M ethanoic acid / |Volume of 0. 1M NaOH titre for |Volume of 0. 1M NaOH titre for|Partition coefficient | |cm3 |aqueous layer / cm3 |alcohol layer / cm3 |K= | |15 |10. 00 |12. 55 |0. 796 | |25 |12. 10 |15. 60 |0. 76 | Conclusion The partition coefficient of ethanoic acid between water and butan-2-ol is : = =0. 786 Discussion 1. Shaking is necessary in step (2) because it made it faster to attain equilibrium state. 2. When temperature increases, the solubility of the two solvents increase. But the rate of the increase in solubility are not the same, it is expected that the partition coefficient varies with temperature. 3. The aim of titration is to find the concentration of the solvent, but not the total number of mole in the solvent. We will write a custom essay sample on To Determination the Partition Coefficient of Ethanoic Acid Between Water and Butan-2-Ol specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now We will write a custom essay sample on To Determination the Partition Coefficient of Ethanoic Acid Between Water and Butan-2-Ol specifically for you FOR ONLY $16.38 $13.9/page Hire Writer We will write a custom essay sample on To Determination the Partition Coefficient of Ethanoic Acid Between Water and Butan-2-Ol specifically for you FOR ONLY $16.38 $13.9/page Hire Writer Therefore, the volumes of the aqueous and alcohol solution used in the titration must be known as accurately as possible in order to find accurately concentration. The aim of adding aqueous ethanoic acid and 2-methypropan-1-ol is only to leave the mixture to equilibrium and provide enough solvent for the titration. Therefore the amounts of aqueous ethanoic acid and 2-methypropan-1-ol need not be measured out accurately. 4. The following assumptions are made: a) The temperature of the mixture remained constant throughout the experiment. This assumption was valid as it was felt (by hand) that the temperature of the separating funnel did not changed throughout the experiment. b) Ethanoic acid, water and butan-2-ol are non-volatile and do not evaporate slowly. This assumption is not valid because there is a smell of alcohol over the separating funnel. That means that there are particles coming out from the mixture in the separating funnel. 5. Solvent extraction is more efficient if the extraction solvent is added in small portions several times instead of all at once. Therefore it is more fficient to extract a solute with two 25cm3 portions of solvent rather than with a single 50cm3 extraction. 6. The applications of the partition law: a) By partition law, the KD can be found experimentally. The amount of the solute that can be extracted using solvent extraction can be predicted, instead of using other complex method. b) By partition law, we know that the amount of solute extracted is more when the extracting solvent is added in several small portions instead of all at once. 7. Butan-2-ol is much lighter than water. Therefore butan-2-ol is at the top of the mixture while water is at the bottom. For human life. all things considered. is itself a glowering testimony of our natural disposition towards a sort of stableness marked by balance. if non by moderateness. There are times when oneââ¬â¢s spirit delectations in the surging highs of genius and merriment ; I. e. . one welcomes the cloud nine and joy that come with joyful experiences. There are times nevertheless when oneââ¬â¢s psyche confounds the crashing wretchednesss of somber and hurting ; i. e. . one embraces the melancholy and unhappiness that come with enduring minutes. But the wisdom lies non in life in surplus of either surging highs or crashing deepnesss. Herein ennui takes on a new whole new bed of significance. Boredom and the Promise of Barrenness Boredom is an experience non everyone would welcome with much pondering and contemplation. Boredom is an agent of contemplation ; a accelerator for deep contemplation. It makes human individuals think of the larger significance of life. which excessively frequently is veiled by the irrational nature of oneââ¬â¢s emotional luggage. It pushes a individual to believe hard of his or her present state of affairs. In the ultimate analysis. it is really boredom that brings into the bow the elements of joys and sorrows in oneââ¬â¢s life. In the prosecution of witches, the society prosecuted a number of innocent women owing to their beliefs and attempts to defend such beliefs. In the 17th century, a number of women were drawn to witchcraft since the practice gained them some authority. The most common argument was that the evil spirit seduced women. The spirits of witchcraft and sorcery would always seek sexual gratification from women and would therefore entice the women into accepting them by peddling a number of pleasantries. Additionally, Women craved authority and influence at the time. The practice provided a degree of authority and was often beneficial since it offered ways of overcoming some common challenges such as health complications. However, the society limited the liberties for women. As such, some women married male witches thereby inheriting the practice from their old husbands. The documentary showed among other things how the polar ice caps are swiftly melting to the effect that a huge amount of the sunââ¬â¢s heat is absorbed and trapped in our atmosphere causing an increase in the earthââ¬â¢s temperature. These glaciers play an important role and have a direct correlation to global warming. The film supports this with scientific data and research accompanied by actual pictures of places in between decades showing the discrepancy man have caused (Guggenheim & Gore, 2006). Faced with this global problem, scientists have also offered solutions to impede and slowdown the process. The most important tool in dealing with environmental woes i s the shift toward sustainability for purposes that human beings do not exhaust the Earthââ¬â¢s natural resources. ... Reliance on energy is a given fact and where our main sources of energy such as coal and fossil fuel are mainly consumable, they necessarily run out that those who are rich in them rake in the profit and play a major role in the determination of the worldââ¬â¢s economy. Renewable energy comes in as an answer to this dilemma as a viable alternative source of energy. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change on their 2007 Synthesis Report provides for the necessity and the benefits of renewable energy. The introduction of new policies that implement energy efficiency should entail the institution of renewable energy which also promotes economic benefits and sufficient energy accompanied by lesser pollution. Among the main thrust of the report is to identify how this should also be beneficial for developing countries who require more energy not only in the business establishments but also particularly in the household. These countries rely mostly on coal as a source of energy and often resort to deforestation. The IPCC provides that ââ¬Å"Energy efficiency and utilisation of renewable energy offer synergies with sustainable developmentâ⬠(p. 59, 2007). This in consequence provides for economic benefits for countries requiring cost-efficient energy with security while reducing pollution. The main opposition to the proposition that there truly is global warming brought about mainly by the copious amount of greenhouse gasses are ubiquitously called greenhouse doubters. The advocates to bring global warming into the limelight on the other hand are most likely to call them as deniers. They have been more prominent in the 1980s through to early 2000 when there had been more scientists in consensus that global warming is a reality based on scientific data. This is to find out whether the young workers have an unfair advantage over elderly worker with respect to employment and salary prospect. The aspects that lead to the problem of age discrimination will also be covered in this paper. The government stance and public perceptions show on how to tackle the problem. There are many examples of prejudice and inequality in our society and in the world we live in. These prejudices can lead to discrimination and create fractures in society and situations where people are denied access to equal rights enjoyed by others. Discrimination against persons of a certain age group is one of the examples that should be focused on, where age was instanced as the top reason for discrimination with the percentage of 29%. Age Discrimination in Singapore Elderly workers are usually the one neglected and receive an unfair treatment in terms of employment. Employers can discriminate by age across several areas such as wages, promotions, hiring, firing and layoff and force retirement. The reason why I choose this particular community is that there is still strong discrimination against elderly worker. In fact, most of the elderly workers always face some difficulties in finding jobs which disadvantaged them in their social lives. Most job requirements prefer younger workers as they think older workers lack or energy, flexibility, or adaptability compared to younger worker and yet there is no any legal action takes from the government, against employers who discriminate. Moreover, the employers may think that elderly workers are unable to work on the Information Technology or may given the excuses of too slow in working progress and thus, using this as a reason to reject or sack them. The employers are also trying to use the reason of poor work performance although the main reason of firing the elderly worker is age discrimination. Implication of Age Discrimination Aging population is one of the problems that always concern in Singapore. As number of elderly people keeps increasing, the employment and unemployment issues might increase too. Thus, it has always been a sensitive issue when it comes to providing employment to people of different age. If the unemployment issue happens to the elderly people, they will start to feel inferior where they are unable to provide family income and future financial security. Thus, this might become a kind of burden towards their children or the government. The main problem faced by the elderly worker is the health and physical conditions. These are the obstacle that faced by the elderly worker when finding job. Problem faced by employed senior citizens Difficulties faced by senior citizens seeking work From the table above, we are able to know that there is a high percentage of foresee difficulties in job search with the average of 90% in the age of 55 and above. Moreover, there are some reasons that caused them in difficulties in job search which relates to their age, job available too physically and mentally demanding, under-qualified and working distance between home and company. The main reason of difficulties in seeking work is because of their age with the average of 85% in the age of 55 and above. Research Example The speech by Mr. Lim Boon Heng, Minister for Prime Ministers Office said that there was an issue mention about the difficulties in finding job. In spite of that, a common of complaint heard in the society is I want to work, I can work, but no one will hire me once they know my age. Or it will be the case that first to be interviewed the older worker but last to be hired. Inequality in Age Discrimination Elderly workers are more in danger to job loss and longer unemployment spells, although they have lower turnover and unemployment compared with their younger counterparts. This is where inequality occurs to elderly worker in society. In June 2009, the amount of employment in the average age of 40 (255,200) is greater than the age of 55 and above (150,700). This shows that the elderly people have the lower number in employment which disadvantages the elderly people when seeking job. Gross Monthly Income from Work The majority of the elderly who were employed in 2009 drew gross monthly income of less than $1,500 (33.8% for those between 65 and 69 years old and 44.2% for those 70 years old and above) falling into the $500-$900. Compared to the younger worker, the income for elderly worker is rather low. Government Stance and Public Perceptions The government works with NTUC and the Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF) to set up a tripartite committee to go into discrimination problems, known as Tripartite Alliance for Fair Employment Practices (TAFEP). This committee has created with revised guidelines on non-discriminatory job advertisements and a number of public and private sector employers pledged to comply with the non-discriminatory practices. Beside government stance, employers should avoid age limit or age range in the job notice and making age an integral part of the application process. Training and development is also an important point to prevent discrimination against elderly worker where it encourages all employees to take the training opportunities. This training opportunity allows elderly worker manages to catch up the Information Technology. One of the suggestions to prevent the issue of age discrimination against elderly worker will be created a rule that certain number of elderly worker should employ in the company. This is to avoid the problems of inequality against elderly worker in the society. Thus, the number of employment in a company should be equally for both younger and elderly worker. Re-employment creates a win-win situation for employers and older employees in Singapore. Compare to raising the statutory retirement age, it offers greater flexibility. On the other hand, according to preliminary findings from 2009 survey by Ministry of Manpower, the vast majority of 92% of them were allowed to continue to work beyond the age of 62. 60% who were allowed to continue to work beyond 62 and 30% who were offered re-employment. These finding shows that they still value older worker. As Ralph B. Perry said Age should not have its face lifted, but it should rather teach the world to admire wrinkles as the etchings of experience and the firm line of character. Conclusion In conclusion, job discrimination against elderly worker in Singapore still exists and the government and public perceptions have been trying very hard to solve and prevent the issue of job discrimination against elderly worker. The job discrimination creates inequality in term of age group. This may cause social tension and threaten to Singapore aging population. The finding shows that there is noticeable age discrimination as the employment rate for older worker is not very high. However, there is still a finding that shows the employers do value older worker, this might not be a strong solution and unable to sustain in the future. In order to prevent or solve the problem of discrimination against elderly worker, Singaporeans should follow what the government stance and public perceptions that applied or suggested to the issue, where the solution given might workable in some ways.
